The cameras are strategically positioned to overlook the pool and record high-quality footage for the AI-system to monitor.
Lifeguards do not have a clear view of the entire bottom of a swimming pool. Reflections, a turbulent water surface and blind spots along the pool edge make it difficult to see when someone is underwater.
The Ocuma Lifeguard Assistant ensures that the lifeguard is aware of anyone who has disappeared from the pool surface or is struggling to stay afloat. Strategically positioned cameras above the pool edge give the system a clear view of everyone in the water, and the AI model discreetly alerts the lifeguard via a smartwatch if someone is in a hazardous situation.
The system remains tirelessly alert, even when human attention wanes. This reduces the workload and the risk of missed incidents, leaving lifeguards with more time for people-focused tasks poolside.
Processing
The system processes the footage and looks for unusual behaviour and hazardous situations.
Alerts
If the system detects a concerning situation, the lifeguard receives an alert on their smartwatch, showing an image and the location.
